Whereas the German ASN (DMSB) had no reason to increase the fee (it remains DM 1500 excl. 7% VAT) the Dutch ASN doubled its fee in an attempt to prevent drivers to seek justice. The Dutch ASN gave no reasoning and just decided it without involvement of the drivers.
As a comparison to the normal court fees in the Netherlands (i.e. NLG 400), the Dutch ASN is now 500% more expensive!
Time has come for the FIA to regulate and harmonise the appeal fees in order to pre-empt that ASN are (ab)using their wrong decisions as a cash cow.
Drivers are adviced to seek justice through the civil courts and to leave the National Courts for Motorsport aside. Alternatively the drivers are advised to act like sitting ducks and accept the disputed decision of the stewards despite the fact that the decision was wrong.
