The mission of this first independent motor sport law site on the web is four-fold:
Our sport is one of the heaviest regulated sports in the world: the only thing which is typically allowed is to drive as fast as you can. Our sport is guided and controlled by a cascade of regulations which are sometimes difficult to read and often subject to changes with or without notice.
In practice we are sometimes faced with ASNs, stewards, directors or even national courts of appeal who misinterpret the applicable regulations or do not comply with their own Statutes.
As lawyers we are trained to read and understand such regulations. However, we do not aim to act as high-flyers looking down from their ivory starting tower. No, it is our mission to stand with our both legs in the paddock, or even in the mud and provide the legal support needed in a pragmatic and solution-driven way.
Per country only one Club or Federation (hereafter called "ASN") is exclusively recognised by the international governing body.
This monopolistic structure needs to be supervised by motor sport professionals in order to enhance the quality of the decisions taken by the ASNs, its race directors, stewards of the meeting, and last but not least it national courts of appeal.
This site will support such professionals in detecting such erroneous acts or omissions and in finding the right arguments to oppose to decisions which may be against the sporting code or may be detrimental to the motor sport interests in general.
The site provides educational opportunities and disseminates experiences regarding specific areas
motor sports law. It provides also a forum for motor sport industry, ASNs, teams, drivers, organisors, motor sport lawyers and others who are interested in this field.
We try to foster the discussion of legal problems affecting motor sports law and give suggestions for possible solutions.
We advocate transparency without invading privacy. If things go wrong, we should not hide it or sweep it under the carpet. We all learn from our mistakes, but some learn faster than others.
The only goal we have is to improve the decision making process of bodies governing and to minimize conflicts. All the interests of our mutual devotion: motor sports.
